Responsibilities

  • Architected the Supabase schema for tutors, sessions, reviews, and payments with row-level security for student/tutor contexts.
  • Wrote realtime collaboration layer on Cloudflare Durable Objects to sync whiteboard state, chat, and lesson notes.
  • Automated onboarding and reminder emails through Cloudflare Workflows and Supabase webhooks.
  • Implemented responsive marketing site and tutor directory with search and filtering across dozens of subjects.

Challenge

Parents and students needed a trustworthy way to find subject experts without committing to subscriptions or opaque pricing. Tutors, meanwhile, wanted tooling beyond generic video calls to keep learners engaged.

  • Tutor discovery with filters by board, subject, and language, including embedded demo videos hosted on Supabase storage.
  • Booking flow that validates availability, triggers Cloudflare Workflow reminders, and respects pay-as-you-go purchasing.
  • Realtime study room leveraging Cloudflare Realtime Kit for low-latency presence, screen sharing, and persistent chat/whiteboard logs.
  • Recording pipeline that streams session captures to Cloudflare R2 and exposes signed URLs in Supabase so learners can revisit any class.

Architecture

The platform combines Next.js server components with Supabase auth/storage and multiple Cloudflare primitives to keep latency low for students across geographies.

  • Supabase handles auth, row-level security, and Postgres functions for booking workflows and coupon redemption.
  • Durable Objects coordinate shared state for each active classroom, ensuring whiteboard consistency and reliable presence tracking.
  • Cloudflare Workflows orchestrate transactional emails, tutor reminders, and escalation logic when sessions are rescheduled.
